Brian Bennett, a farmer lived in the farming town of Goromonzi about 32 kilometres from Harare. He grew up in a strong cricketing environment from an early age. Kelly Bennett’s son (Brian Bennett) was a blueberry farmer and had an interest in cricket. He was inspired by his father, a former club cricketer who also featured in a few first-class matches for Young Mashonaland.
Brian got into cricket from the age of 3 or 4. Kelly built practice nets at home, and Brian and his twin brother, David, practiced and worked every day school at home. They would play at an hour at a time, one batting and the other bowling!

Known as the most famous cricket High School, Peterhouse Boys School in the town of Marondera, Zimbabwe, was where Brian Bennett studied. International career
On 7 December 2023, Bennett made his T20I debut for Zimbabwe against Ireland. After a slow start to adapting to international cricket, he ended the wait for his first 50 in T20I with an up-to-the-minute 70 off just in 49 balls against Bangladesh in May 2024. This innings saw Zimbabwe clinch their one and only win of the series.
His Test debut came against Ireland in July 2024. In just his second Test match later that year he hit an unbeaten 110 against Afghanistan in Bulawayo. The century, which made him the second youngest ever Zimbabwean to score a Test hundred after Hamilton Masakadza also helped take Zimbabwe to an unprecedented 586 in their largest innings total at this level.
